When you first installed the PAI Health app, you will have been given a recommended started goal based on your current fitness level.
You may change your goal at any time by following these steps:
- In the PAI Health app, click on the top right profile icon
- Click on the PAI Score under the Goal heading
- Select your new goal from the list
Your updated goal will take affect from the next day onwards.
Research based on one of the world’s largest health studies, the HUNT Study, found that consistently maintaining 100 PAI or more reduced risk of heart disease by up to 25% and increased life expectancy by an average of 5 years.
While, ultimately, you want to aim for 100 PAI, maintaining at least 50 PAI will still give you approximately 60% of the health protection benefits. Bottom-line, every point means progress toward a healthier heart.
Start with a goal of 30, work up to 50, and before you know it you will be achieving 100 PAI. Anything that gets your body moving and your heart pumping counts.
PAI is not about perfection, just progress. What’s most important is that you keep moving.
